It's time for #GetGoodSummer!

I sometimes think we should forget New Years Resolutions and skip straight to summer. Summertime makes me feel motivated... I can aim high in the summer, and I'll actually feel like doing it... but all too often, my summers have sped by in a haze and I've looked back and realised I've really achieved very little. And then #GetGoodSummer was started by a friend of mine, and for the last two summers I've been making resolutions as I head into July... the first year, we discovered I was pregnant two weeks in, and so all plans went to pot as I spent the summer with my head over a toilet.

But last year? Last year I had my most productive summer ever... and lots of you did too! So I'm really excited to be announcing that as of next week, #SavouringtheSeason will be closing down until the autumn, and Thursday's will become #GetGoodSummer day again!!! I'm hoping lots of you from last year will come back, and we'll have some new entrants as well!!

So here's how it works!

You take ten weeks... the last Thursday in June until the first Thursday in September, and you set yourself 5 goals... five things you'd like to achieve by the time the autumn rolls around. These things can be as varied and as unusual as you want... but they have to be specific, measurable and realistic.

Last year, the participants that linked up here were language-learning, decorating, weight-losing, clutter-clearing, marathon-training, lemonade-making, baking, scrapbooking, clothes-making, vegetable-patch planting, adventure-finding and fjord-swimming (yup... that last one was me!) amongst many other things!

The idea is then we link back to this linky every week, let each other know how we're getting on, and have a really productive and encouraging summer!!

So if you'd like to join in, all you've got to do is this... get your thinking caps on and come up with five goals you'd like to achieve this summer... the possibilities are endless! Then link up your #GetGoodSummer goals post next Thursday in the linky (or in the comments section if you're not a blogger) and we'll stop back every week to see how we're getting on!

Then we do the rounds weekly, cheering each other on, sharing some comment love, stealing each others ideas and inspiration, and generally having the most productive summer you've ever had...

Who's in??!

  1. Yep, I'm in! Funny but I really struggle with the aimlessness of Summer and seem to drift through it just waiting for Autumn this will be good motivation for me.

  8. Ooh loving this idea! We have so much we want to do to get organised before the baby comes in Nov, and we have started already but I love this idea and hopefully it will give me the motivation I need to keep going with it all! See you next Thursday! xx

  9. Fantastic idea! I might struggle to join in with a post a week, as my own summer resolution is to avoid weekly commitments after my year of 'Our Time of Gifts' posts. I'll be with you in spirit though, and may well dip in from time to time, if that's ok....
